TIDES WITHIN
Censottis work is rooted in the connection between the human landscape and the formations found on the Earth’s surface. Most recently, the main focus of her studies is her investigation of the instinctual pull between man woman and child as they relate to the lunar cycles and the oceans tides. In her installation “Tides Within” censotti reveals her findings through a delicate matching of her chosen medium of Ceramics.
Woven into the fabric of Censottis installation are many inspirations. Some of her heavier influences are the intricacy of Giacometti’s drawings and the power of the line as defined through the sculptures of Eva Hesse.
The tides within is an environment that expresses the essence of relationships. Through her research of water waves that stretch across the surface of the Earth, Censotti found these patterns resemble the structures of the human nervous system.
The essence of all the patterns flow like the rivers of life within our bodies. We can learn about human relationships through the study of nature. In comparison, the location of the moon around the earths atmosphere has a magnetic pull which creates the tides. The pull between the water and moon is similar to the attraction between man and woman therefore creating the tides within.
In life there are many forms of relationships and patterns within God's creation (nature).
