Phase 1 - Community Assessment and Mobilization
My Chosen Vessels will partner with NGOs from each village in order to evaluate the specific needs of each village and community. Our teams will reside in each village to establish and maintain strategic alliances and maintain relationships in order to successfully partner with and serve the needs of the Maasai people.
Phase 2 - Water Technology
My Chosen Vessel’s will work closely with local contractors to oversee the water projects construction and completion. One borehole per Maasai village will be drilled. The pumping units for each well will be powered by environmentally efficient solar and wind technology. These combined water technologies will be used to make clean water more accessible to the local communities, eliminating the Maasai people’s dependence on contaminated water.
Phase 3 - Education & Entrepreneurial Training
My Chosen Vessels will partner with local NGOs to educate and train the community in water management, sanitation, and sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship skills. The local community will be trained on prevention and elimination of the spread of infectious diseases. The proposed entrepreneurial ventures include livestock, honey bees, produce gardens and local tanneries.
Phase 4 - Sustainability
Advanced training in water management and economic development is the key element for sustainability. My Chosen Vessels entrepreneurship training will equip the Maasai to establish a skilled work force and create economic growth. Once the Maasai people are financially empowered they will have the funds to maintain the borehole. As a result, the Maasai will remain localized in their traditional homeland reducing the need for migration to urban areas, thus preserving their rich culture.
