                              Education
Quality education closes the gap between the struggles of today and opens the door to the promises of the future!

Education is a critical component for economic empowerment. It is estimated that more than 75% of the Maasai people are illiterate.  Unfortunately, education has become so expensive causing very few Maasai families the ability to afford quality education.  My Chosen Vessels provides education for Maasai children who have never been in school or are on the verge of dropping out due to lack of funds. We are committed to giving the Maasai community the education tools needed in order for them to become empowered.

Currently only 48% of Maasai girls are enrolled in school and out of that, only 5% of them go to secondary school. My Chosen Vessels Pilate phase was aimed at providing education and support to girls who said no to female circumcision. We are still committed to closing the gender gap in education. However now our focus is multicultural, multigenerational and inclusive to men and boys. We know a strong emphasis in education is paramount to the empowerment of the entire Maasai community, which will allow for a better quality of life and career opportunities.

My Chosen Vessels believes in a bicultural education that balances modern education and traditional cultural practices. Embracing culture is an asset in education. My Chosen Vessels has workshop, after school programs and lectures that engage the people in the United States to learn about indigenous cultures and traditional practices around the world.

The financial contributions made to My Chosen Vessels educational fund will be used for children’s tuition, textbooks, uniforms, educational workshops and teachers. Please join us today and help us empower the Maasai community through education.
