“Draw My Future”_ Drawing, painting and creative writing
“Draw My Future” is an eclectic and comprehensive initiative that allows Maasai girls to express their desire for quality education rather than forced early marriages. Utilizing drawing, painting and creative writing, Maasai girls are able to give a voice to their dreams of achieving an education and becoming a valuable asset to their community. Workshop Objectives: The objective of the workshop is to give Maasai girls, saying no to early forced marriages and FGM an opportunity for creative expression and thoughtful reflection into their dreams, goals and future. Workshop Goal: The goal of the workshop is to create an introspective and thoughtful inquiry into their lives beyond marriage and to encourage them to set expectations for their education. Workshop Outcome: The outcome of this program will be to produce T-shirts / clothing with printed art work created by the children for purchase, creating additional funding and resources for Maasai girls to have quality education. |
